Rocky Mountain Reserve is a fictional 4km US map located in the Rocky Mountains. This map contains all of the typical selling/purchase points, production points, BGA, sawmill, etc. that you would expect to find. There are no additional fill types on this map, at least not yet anyhow, and there is unfortunately no railroad.

Fun fact: RMR was never intended to be a production map at all, it was my testing platform for mods, placeables, and other ideas. Also, Rocky Mountain Reserve was not it’s original name, it was first called Rocky Mountain Valley until I found that name was already used. First come, first serve! There was no point in stepping on toes, so I changed the name to RMR.

I hope you have as much fun playing the map as I had building it!

This is a very dynamic map. The steep terrain makes it a challenge for smaller, lower-powered equipment yet the tight, winding, tree-lined roads make getting around in larger equipment an adventure. The map has a large feel to it and offers distinct areas that will keep it playable for a long time. There is a hidden farm or sell area around every turn. So far I have around 5 hours in and I am greatly enjoying it. Excited to be among the first to play this beta and I am looking forward to see it come together in the release version. So far very few minor issues, I will go into detail when the forum thread for this is unlocked. Until then, great job, Bauer! This very well might replace Elmcreek Extension as my favorite FS22 map!

Awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying it! It's funny to think this was never meant to be a playable map. I was pushing to get the project completed and uploaded mostly so I could move on to bigger and better things! I guesstimate that I have a year or so wrapped up in creatoing the map, and while it was a ton of fun to build, it was not entirely painless. There were times where it was as much of a challenge to build as it is to play. I encourage everyone to give the map a shot, but I will admit that it's not for everyone, and only a certain type of player will thoroughly enjoy this map. I had problems arise just before launch, and while I think I resolved the issues ... there is still a lot of testing that needs to be done - hence the beta release. I appreciate the input becaue I'm really counting on you guys to help me find the areas of the map that need improvment. Concerning the forum, I was under the impression that only the parent was locked, and the two sub-forums are open and able to be posted to. If this turns out to not be the case, please let me know and I will unlock the parent group.

Hello, though i would let you know, you have a spelling error in you placeables folder with your hayloft, the file is called "hayLoft" and your xml's tries to load "hayloft". Otherwise great looking map and great tutorials you have on youtube, been learning so much, thank you!

Awesome, thanks for letting me know ... I'll have that fixed in the upcoming update this weekend. Make sure you download the update because we are currently in testing and there are a handful of things in this version that have already been fixed. The first public release is probably not far off as long as this next update goes well.

I have to admit I really didn't expect to see such an amount of detail on the map, You have really done a great job. Your map making videos are 2nd to none, and I'm sure I will be enjoying many a hour of farming on your map. Many thanks Bauer!

Well, they do say that the "devil is in the details." In my opinion, details or lack thereof, can make or break a map. I've seen many good map that could have been so much more if they had just put in a little extra. I'm glad you're enjoying the map!

I finally installed RMR this morning and spent more than an hour just driving around exploring. Impressive, very nice job on the layout and details. I know the map is 4km but it feels HUGE, not a short drive from corner to corner. Thanks for sharing this with us, I'm sure there will be many hours spent here.

I am a newbie this year to fs. My first map was elm creek. I see you have a map called elm creek extension. It shows the update is not available for download. Is the map still playable and can I download it from this site?? From what I’ve seen it looks to be a good map and elm creek is still one of my favorite maps..

It's not available for download through the site only because I was still working on the update and have not uploaded it yet. There are still older versions out there on the internet, but I don't recommend downloading it from any of the sites that are currently hosting it. Wait it out for a bit and I'll get EE uploaded to this site asap.

Thank you for responding I will wait for it to be on this site looking forward to it.

It won't be long. I'll have a copy up by 5 PM tomorrow.

This is gonna be my new main farming map I've decided! It's very cozy, and I know it's supposed to be fictional but this is very reminiscent of Springville, UT. It's got UT lake in the NW corner, a river running thru town, and mountains to the NE, and a small farm-town vibe. But I suppose that combination could be just about anywhere in the rockies huh? Also may I ask why the power station is Rocky Mountain Energy and not Rocky Mountain Power? Anyways, I'm super looking forward to some smaller-scale challenging farming!

I didn't give much thought to the name since the map is fictional. It's the first thing that came to mind I guess. I'm glad you're enjoying the map!

Hello Bauer , i love your tutorials and wanna try mapping myself soon. I gonna check out your map on a server now. I just wanted to let you know it shows 2 issue's that are probably not a big deal , but so you know. Issues 2 I3D file 'map/map.i3d.terrain.lod.type.cache' is too big. Size 32.00 MB (max. 10.00 MB) Space character not recommended in filename: 'map/overview copy.dds'

bauerbrown by bauerbrown in July 4, 2023

The cache size is a non-issue and is there mosty for console players, but I'll look into it just the same. The "overview copy" shouldn't even exist ... that was likely just an oversight and that file can be deleted - it will be removed in future updates.
