I covered how to convert back to a GRLE in this video https://youtu.be/3jSnM4UNqhI?t=823. However, the GRLEs contained within “fieldGround.xml” are not listed in the i3d and when you change resolutions on them you can cannot convert back to GRLE, you have to leave them in their PNG form. I find it odd that you would need to do any of this for a standard size map, this usually only applies to larger maps.

would you be able to take a look at the map if i sent it to you? at this point im ready to give it to who ever can fix the issue its all done except the texture issue. the lime goes away when you plant a crop but does not completely disappear when you spread lime then plow. just checked another one of my maps and its now doing the same thing where before this newest update everything worked properly when you spread lime and then plow.

Just butting in, this sounds like the same issue I found on RMR in just one field too.  The field was already limed, I took a plowing contract on it.  It did plow, and it showed plowed and I collected on the contract, but the field state still showed a lime texture, though it appeared lighter.  But…that may have just been the plowed ground underneath causing that illusion.  I have not ran into this since, but I really have not been playing too much except RMR and I am doing my own thing there.  So yeah, what if it is a Giants update issue?  I wouldn’t rule that out, maybe experiment some more?

It’s hard to butt in on a public forum, besides, you are basically the QA department, LMAO, so I think you’re entitled!! 🙂 Well, it makes more sense now, that this would be an update issue. It didn’t sound right that you should need to do this on a standard sized map. I’ll hit some of the forums and see if there is any other feedback about the issue. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time that this happened with an update, and a new patch did come out recently.

BTW: I’m trying to fix the issue with this forum not sending email notifications for thread updates – seems like a WP plugin issue. At least I didn’t  build this one 🙂

I’ve been through the forums and didn’t see anything relating to this issue, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an update issue. Who knows, maybe you guys are the first to narrow it down to an update. I’d say let’s just keep an eye on it for now and see where it goes.

its definitely frustrating to have this issue especially when it effects a map i have recently released to the public.

Agreed, but like we already figured out, the problem is not with just that map … it happens with others as well. I have yet to see this problem for myself, hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to.

No, like I said, I haven’t found anything in the forums which is surprising. I got some map work done this weekend, but didn’t get a chance to test anything yet. Out  of curiosity, try loading up without mods and see if the problem persists. Mod conflicts after updates are nothing new … happens all the time.

    I found this:

When we plow fields now after patch 1.9 where we didnt make bales out of straw the plowing looks awful. The texture is plowed but at the same time it looks like when you go over a harvested field with a cultivator, the “straw” is still there…

    Fix ASAP

Looks like all we can do is wait it out until they roll out a fix. This happens every single time they push out an update.

So I’m working the player farm fields on startup in Aug on the updated RMR map.  I plow 32 and 33, lime 32 and had some overspray hit 33.  As I was still plowing (ai) I went back over the lime and…it didn’t disappear!  Ah-ha!  So I finished with my plow guy on 33 and decided to send him down on a contract.  Field 47 needs plowing, cool.  I get down there and it is harvested and limed!  Awesome, what will it do?  It did NOT plow in the lime.  It plows, but the lime is still there, as usual.  Okay, I got this figured out now, you simply can’t plow lime with the update.  To prove it I went on elmcreek, a fresh save, and bought a field, plowed in half, limed it all and…I plowed in the lime over both the plowed and unplowed texture… 🙁

I have a loaded mods folder, I could start a game with an empty one, but I am pretty convinced Giants has something going on here.  Bauer is right, I have YET to see an update that didn’t bork something…

It’s been a crazy weekend and I still haven’t had a chance to test anything yet. Is there noticeable improvement with the update?
