Start by checking your error log to see if it is logging anything. When it crashed, it did not save correctly and corrupted the I3D. Sometimes you can find the problem by manually inspecting the I3D and sometimes the XML editor will hilight a fault in the XML. This is the very reason I keep multiple backups of my work – I’ve been in this position one too many times.

This looks like a setting adjustment. In SSC videos 3 and 4 I show you how to adjust the angle and slope settings to get rid of a stepping effect. Watch that particular part and see what changes you get. You may have to do the road in smaller sections.

Sorry for the late reply, I’m extremely behind on things this week. Did you check the data you exported and fix any discrepancies? I show how to do this in the SSC series. You can post screen shots if you want, it wouldn’t hurt. Hit me up with any more questions and I’ll do what I can.

Make sure you go to the Giant’s Developer Network and download version 9.0.4 of the editor. It comes with added features and improvements that I will go over some time in the future.

Thanks for the input! Thankfully all of these issues have already been resolved and will be released with the next update. The next update will go up tonight or tomorrow morning (most likely 4/9 – 4/10). The north side of field 104 is pretty darn bumpy, but it’s not the only place! Would you believe that it has been smoothed down several times already? LOL! I may turn it down a little bit more, but more than likely it won’t be much more than what it is now.
Thank you for bringing these items to my attention! It has only been through the help of the testers that this map is making the progress that it is.

Are you able to “Tab” into it? Check all of your settings for “switch to trains” and something along the lines of the train being “tabble” (I’m not completely sure both of those setting still exist in FS22). Also check your game log for anything train related. Those are the most basic things that will cause this.

UGH! It never fails!! Thankfully the shop spawn point is good because I moved it and never tested it a single time. I’m tellin’ ya’ … my brain is just frazzled anymore. I need to get some time in game and really have a look because there shouldn’t be a stone issue anymore, something else may be going on.
I’m going to mark 3/20/23 as the official start of the next map. Just out of curiosity, let’s see how long it really takes before it hits testing. I’ve only ever had an approximation of how long it takes. Not to mention that I have been refining how things get done and some of this should go WAY faster than before. But first … RMR.

It’s been a crazy weekend and I still haven’t had a chance to test anything yet. Is there noticeable improvement with the update?

I found this:
When we plow fields now after patch 1.9 where we didnt make bales out of straw the plowing looks awful. The texture is plowed but at the same time it looks like when you go over a harvested field with a cultivator, the “straw” is still there…
Fix ASAPLooks like all we can do is wait it out until they roll out a fix. This happens every single time they push out an update.

No, like I said, I haven’t found anything in the forums which is surprising. I got some map work done this weekend, but didn’t get a chance to test anything yet. Out of curiosity, try loading up without mods and see if the problem persists. Mod conflicts after updates are nothing new … happens all the time.

Agreed, but like we already figured out, the problem is not with just that map … it happens with others as well. I have yet to see this problem for myself, hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to.

I’ve been through the forums and didn’t see anything relating to this issue, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an update issue. Who knows, maybe you guys are the first to narrow it down to an update. I’d say let’s just keep an eye on it for now and see where it goes.

It’s hard to butt in on a public forum, besides, you are basically the QA department, LMAO, so I think you’re entitled!! 🙂 Well, it makes more sense now, that this would be an update issue. It didn’t sound right that you should need to do this on a standard sized map. I’ll hit some of the forums and see if there is any other feedback about the issue. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time that this happened with an update, and a new patch did come out recently.
BTW: I’m trying to fix the issue with this forum not sending email notifications for thread updates – seems like a WP plugin issue. At least I didn’t build this one 🙂

I covered how to convert back to a GRLE in this video https://youtu.be/3jSnM4UNqhI?t=823. However, the GRLEs contained within “fieldGround.xml” are not listed in the i3d and when you change resolutions on them you can cannot convert back to GRLE, you have to leave them in their PNG form. I find it odd that you would need to do any of this for a standard size map, this usually only applies to larger maps.

It’s definitely a resolution issue, but it may not be with the lime level, it’s with what is covering the lime which in this case would be the plow effect. I could be wrong here, it will take some testing of course. Resolution issues come down to a lot of trial and error. To this day I still either forget, or get confused about which infoLayers are associated with each effect. Change the resolution on one and then test … you’ll know rather quickly if you got the right one or not 🙂
